Linnis' Art In Galveston & Mosquito Cafe.

I had the best day last Saturday. Really.
So I woke up and ran with Jamie at 11 and then I had my pitching lessons with Jessica and Shanice after which I went home and packed, took a shower, and got ready to head to Galveston for Linnis' art opening.
So I head down towards Galveston, and as soon as I reach beach road through Crystal Beach, I'm floored. Nothing was there. Absolutely nothing. The water was no more than a couple hundred yards or so from the road itself. There were people walking up and down the beach-- probably catching a nice case of tetnus-- and there were what seemed like hundreds of construction trucks and what not. As I drove into the more populated area of the beach, it seemed like progress was being made and there was some rebuilding happening. It was all very surreal because I know a lot of people who had beach cabins where they spent happy weekends and others who lived there and were devastated. I got down to the ferry line at 6:00, and sat in line, read my book while inching up to the ferry.
I got into Galveston at 8:12 and finally found the Wagner Soulsa Museum. I missed the crowd, but there were still about 20 people in the space. Linnis said that there was a great show up, and that he was really pleased.
I was starving by the time I got there so I asked the gallery owner's wife or friend-- ?? not sure-- where I could go for some really yum awesome food. She told me to go to Mosquito Cafe on 14th and Winnie, so I did. I walked in just in time and ordered a Salmon Club sandwich with Fresh Apple Salad. Fantastic! So, if you're ever in Galveston.....
