an artist-artist friendship can be tricky.
i've always loved you because we draw off of each other.
i was never afraid to tell you exactly what i was thinking
for fear that you would rip me off and call it your own.
because even if you did rip me off you were so great
that you flipped an idea on its head which i totally dig.
an artist-artist friendship is important.
because i've always needed some great energy to feed off of.
you've always made me dig deeper and try harder.
i wanted to impress you-- i'm sure it was mutual.
i think of you always but especially when i want someone working next to me.
not necessarily talking, but sharing music and energy flow.
not talking when i don't want words. words when i need critique.
and even when we disagreed it was cool.
i love you. always have. always will.
this type of friendship is incredibly rare.
you're it.
those are great relationships, maybe the only ones we need.
