I'm determined to include my cats into/ around/ under/ as a side note to my art. Ha.
Sort of how in the past dogs were used for fidelity. Cats represent independence and wit. I almost don't understand now how I used to despise cats. I absolutely love my little babies. They are brilliant.
Baz and Bagheera Nala are their names.
Things to do in a very short amount of time:
Build a canvas.
Gather materials for a still life in which the combination should be surprising. (Yay, shock, I don't really believe in you anymore.)
Do some color studies of said objects/ still life.
Develop negatives of me in my bathroom making faces for 48 exposures.
Go to photo store and acquire more materials for said photographs.
Grain my two stones for printmaking.
Work on imagery.
But first and foremost: Read Nothing like the Son: On Robert Mapplethorpe's X Portfolio.
And Prom Night in Flatland: On the Gender of Works of Art.
Gather images for those, write summary/thoughts on/ conclusions....
Also, what do i not think is art? I must find an example of such...
I looked through multiple magazines and B&N and the magazines... I guess I haven't noticed contemporary art thus far.
I'm an art history kinda gal... but also as open minded as I am, I was surprised how much I thought was NOT art. Shame on me I guess... or shame on them? Who knows... no shame... just forgettable art.
